2026 SEASON ARCHIVE | Game played October 2, 2026 | Retrospective recap compiled October 25, 2026. Record immediately after this game: 3-3.

Canyon Springs finished one point short against Heritage on October 2, falling 14–13 despite a productive ground game. The Cougars moved to 3–3, with 348 rushing yards providing the clearest positive in a tightly scored contest.

Jaxon Taylor led the rushing effort with 177 yards and a touchdown. Ramelo Bonner added 62 yards and a score, while Angel Robles contributed 44 rushing yards. Donte “DJ” Todd supplied another 23. That distribution reflected work from several ball carriers and the offensive front supporting them.

Isaac Rickard caught three passes for 27 yards, and Todd added 26 receiving yards. Canyon Springs’ biggest offensive strength remained on the ground, where its total showed the ability to gain substantial yardage even though the scoring output stopped at 13 points.

Dominic Castro recorded eight tackles, Isaac Garcia made seven and Edwin Miranda had six. The defense held Heritage to 14 points, giving the Cougars a close game on the scoreboard. Jason Reynoso and Jeremy Maldonado each received a pancake credit for their blocking contributions.

The one-point margin made this a demanding result for a team that had moved the ball effectively on the ground. Taylor’s 177-yard game and Bonner’s contribution gave Canyon Springs strengths to carry forward as it sought to turn a narrow result into renewed momentum.
