Canyon Springs’ second game of the season ended in a 24–7 loss to Fallbrook on August 27. The Cougars moved to 1–1, with quarterback Angel Robles’ versatility and several defensive efforts standing out in the game report.
Robles threw for 106 yards and added 56 rushing yards with a touchdown. His contribution as a runner gave Canyon Springs its scoring play, while his passing helped involve several teammates. Aaron Triplett caught five passes for 57 yards, providing the largest reported receiving contribution.
Jayden Grandberry supplied 27 rushing yards, and Donte “DJ” Todd added 16 receiving yards. The offense faced a difficult night overall, but those individual contributions offered identifiable pieces to develop as the season continued.
Dominic Castro and Jordan Jones each recorded seven tackles. Isaiah Cano added six. In the offensive line report, Trey Bratton received two pancake credits and Jeremy Maldonado had one, recognizing work that can be easy to miss when attention stays only on the final score.
Fallbrook earned the result, and Canyon Springs left with an early-season challenge to answer. Robles’ ability to contribute in two ways, the receiving connection with Triplett and the activity of Castro, Jones and Cano gave coach Kyle McFadden’s team specific positives to take from the game without overlooking the improvements the score demanded.
