MORENO VALLEY — The Ravens brought their rivalry breakthrough onto Rancho Verde’s home field. Vista del Lago’s 28–14 victory gave head coach Mike Tuohy and his players another milestone, one season after Vista recorded its first win over the Mustangs at home. The Ravens are now 6–1 overall, 2–0 in the Ivy League and riding five consecutive wins.

THE PLAYMAKERS PUT THEIR NAMES ON IT

Jae’lynn Brown delivered seven catches for 122 yards and two touchdowns. The junior receiver accounted for more than half of Vista’s passing yardage, giving the Ravens a finishing presence on a night that demanded one. Quarterback Josiah Dupree-Boyd completed 13 of 22 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Brown supplied two of those scores; Polo Greer supplied the other, finishing with two receptions for 33 yards.

Mikya Adams carried the work on the ground: 26 attempts, 125 yards and a touchdown. He added four catches for 65 yards, giving him 190 yards from scrimmage. That production deserves recognition for both its volume and its range. Adams was a runner the Ravens could return to and a receiving option Rancho also had to account for.

THE LINE AND THE FRONT DESERVE THE SPOTLIGHT

The posted blocking report credits Vista with 16 pancakes: four for Nehemiah White; three apiece for Sekona Manu, Moses Rogers and Deven Durley; two for Nathan Giron; and one for Malakai Hampton. Those are team-reported blocking statistics, and they put names to the work that supported the offensive production.

Defensively, the published box score lists seven sacks and 11 tackles for loss. Isaac Gonzalez is credited with nine tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. Jordan Edwards is credited with five tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks. Alijah Shivers added five tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack; Evan Palacio and Taumoelau Hausia each added a sack. Kevon Wilson contributed seven tackles. Brian Abarca converted all four extra-point attempts.

THE SEASON KEEPS GROWING

Through the latest posted totals, Adams has 814 rushing yards. Dupree-Boyd has 1,237 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns, plus 267 rushing yards and eight rushing scores. Brown’s receiving line stands at 546 yards and eight touchdowns across four reported games. Gonzalez has 71 tackles, and Shivers has seven sacks. Reported player participation varies, so those totals should be read with each player’s listed games played.

The next test is Orange Vista at Vista del Lago on Thursday, October 15, with the current schedule listing a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. The Ravens have earned the position they occupy. Their next opportunity is to defend it.

REPORTING NOTE: The Gonzalez and Edwards tackle/TFL figures above follow the current published MaxPreps box score. Earlier recognition figures supplied to VL247 differ; that discrepancy remains flagged for reconciliation. The published final is 28–14. Blank statistical categories are treated as unreported, not zero.
