MORENO VALLEY — Rancho Verde’s 28–14 home loss to Vista del Lago changes the standings, but it does not erase the players’ work. The Mustangs are 3–4 overall and 1–1 in the Ivy League. Their October 9 box score provides plenty of names worth recognizing and a clear picture of what they can carry into the next game.

BOWSER MAKES THE RECEIVING PLAYS COUNT

Aaron Bowser caught three passes for 113 yards and a touchdown, including a 60-yard gain. He accounted for most of Rancho’s 124 passing yards. Kingston Morgan completed six of nine passes for those 124 yards and the touchdown, giving the Mustangs a productive passing performance despite the result.

The rushing report credits Rancho Verde with 94 yards on 22 carries. George Campbell III led with 40 yards on nine attempts. DeQuavion Moore gained 39 on four carries, and Khristian Windom Castle added 24 on two with a touchdown. Morgan’s seven rushing attempts were listed at minus-nine yards. Bowser’s receiving score and Windom Castle’s rushing score supplied the Mustangs’ two touchdowns.

THE DEFENSE’S WORK HAS NAMES

Jae’don O’Keith and Kason Hawkins each recorded nine tackles. O’Keith added three tackles for loss, while Hawkins had one tackle for loss and a pass defended. Uriah Celestine and Gareon Galloway each finished with seven tackles; Celestine added two tackles for loss and Galloway one.

Isaiah Gilliam and Bryce Simms each had six tackles. Ziyar Walker-Jones and Jaeden Craig had four apiece. The posted team report lists 59 tackles and 11 tackles for loss. Meech Johnson was credited with three tackles and two tackles for loss. These are the contributors behind a defensive effort that deserves more than a glance at the final score.

THE UPDATED SEASON PICTURE

The current season tables list Kaleb Smith with five interceptions and Gilliam with four. Those replace the older four-and-three figures in the previous reporting material. Celestine leads Rancho’s posted tackles-per-game category at 6.7, followed by O’Keith at 5.7. Campbell has 336 rushing yards through seven reported games.

Rancho’s full season passing table lists only 143 yards, with 124 coming from this game. That limited published total should not be mistaken for a complete evaluation of the offense. Category reporting remains uneven, and the site labels those figures as published totals rather than filling the blanks with estimates.

The next scheduled game is at Poly in Riverside on Saturday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. The Mustangs still have three regular-season opportunities ahead. The players who produced Friday have earned recognition now and a chance to write the next part on the field.

REPORTING NOTE: Current game statistics and season totals were checked October 14. Unreported sacks, kicking figures and other blank categories have not been converted to zero.
