LAKE ELSINORE — Canyon Springs answered with a result its players can build on. The Cougars defeated Lakeside 31–7 on the road, improving to 4–3 overall and 1–1 in the Inland Valley League. The margin was clear, and the contributors were spread across offense, defense and special teams.

ROBLES AND TAYLOR DRIVE THE OFFENSE

Angel Robles completed 10 of 14 passes for 152 yards and two touchdowns in the posted passing report. He added 41 rushing yards on 11 attempts. Jaxon Taylor carried 15 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns, providing both of the Cougars’ rushing scores.

Aaron Triplett turned his lone reception into a 78-yard touchdown. Isaac Rickard caught three passes for 36 yards and the other receiving score. Keyon’tay Edwards had four catches for 12 yards, Izaiah Beltran added two for four, and Taylor gained 23 yards on his reception. Those names belong alongside the quarterback’s because the passing game was their work, too.

On the ground, Donte Todd gained 16 yards on one carry, Michael Joslin added 22 on three, and Ramelo Bonner had 12 on four. The team’s rushing report totals 159 yards on 35 attempts.

TURNER HELPS SET THE DEFENSIVE TONE

Joseph Turner recorded five solo tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble. Edwin Miranda contributed five tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Olando Spurlock added two tackles for loss and a sack.

Nathan Castro led the posted tackle totals with seven. Isaac Garcia had four; Aries Eden and Jordan Jones each had three. Todd and Omari Solomon each intercepted a pass, while Trey Bratton recovered a fumble. The team report credits Canyon Springs with four sacks and five tackles for loss.

MIRANDA DELIVERS IN THE KICKING GAME

Miranda converted all four extra-point attempts and made his field-goal try for seven kicking points. He also recorded 359 yards on six kickoffs with five touchbacks and 100 yards on two punts. Todd added 33 yards on two punt returns. Edwards contributed 29 yards on two kickoff returns.

Canyon Springs next hosts Citrus Hill on Friday, October 16, at 7 p.m. Turner’s posted season total is now four sacks, while Taylor leads the Cougars with seven total touchdowns. Friday supplied the kind of team result that lets individual recognition strengthen the larger story.

REPORTING NOTE: The verified final is 31–7. The published passing table lists 10 completions and 152 yards, while the receiving rows total 11 catches and 153 yards. The tackle report lists 38 total tackles even though the solo and assisted columns sum to 36. VL247 preserves the reported individual figures and flags these inconsistencies for correction.
