Moreno Valley finished five points short against Hillcrest on October 2, falling 20–15 to move to 3–3. Within that close result, the Vikings produced strong receiving work, a versatile performance from Jahsiah Sio and several disruptive defensive plays.
Sio rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown and added 67 receiving yards. His 154 yards from scrimmage gave Moreno Valley a reliable contributor in both parts of the offense. Ricky Jaramillo caught eight passes for 76 yards and a touchdown, providing another important outlet.
Cael Cryer threw for 104 yards, while William Davis added 56 passing yards and a touchdown. Those contributions came against a defense that kept the Vikings from turning their offensive production into a victory.
The defensive report included seven tackles for loss, three sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. Cashawn Neal made nine tackles. Eugene Hasson also recorded nine, adding a sack, an interception and a forced fumble. Oscar De La Torre finished with eight tackles, three for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Devon Border added an interception.
The final score left Moreno Valley with work to do, but the game also showed a team capable of creating opportunities on both sides. Sio’s versatility, Jaramillo’s receiving volume and the defense’s activity offered specific reasons to keep building as the season moved deeper into October.
