Week 0 Preview: Valley View Welcomes Claremont to Moreno Valley
Valley View begins the 2026 football season at home on Friday, August 21, when the Eagles welcome Claremont to Moreno Valley for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff. A home opener creates its own energy, and Valley View enters the night with an opportunity to establish its pace, physicality and confidence from the opening series.
The Eagles prepared for Week 0 with a road scrimmage at Bonita. That experience tested communication and sideline operation while giving the coaching staff a final live evaluation before the regular season. Now the focus shifts from rotation and experimentation to situational execution.
KEY 1: CONTROL THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE
Early-season football often begins up front. Valley View can help its offense stay on schedule by creating manageable down-and-distance situations, while the defensive front can set the tone by playing with sound leverage and disciplined gap control.
KEY 2: CREATE CLEAN EXPLOSIVE PLAYS
The Eagles have athletes capable of changing field position quickly. The goal is to create those moments within the structure of the offense: strong protection, precise routes, decisive running and dependable ball security. Explosive plays are most valuable when they support sustained drives.
KEY 3: USE THE HOME-FIELD ENERGY
A loud home crowd can become an advantage when the team remains composed. Valley View will look to communicate clearly, avoid preventable penalties and make special teams a positive part of the field-position battle.
